  14. Finally,  I decided to bring out this new version of the old
  15. statistics  program  EstadisEcos.rexx adapted for using with
  16. Mail  Manager!.   EstadisEcos.rexx was programmed in October
  17. of  1993  to  run  initially over DLG/PDQ in my own BBS.  In
  18. that  moment  only  show  consideration  about  a  couple of
  19. statistics,  but  for  some time new options were added upto
  20. the  version that is working at present.  In March of 1995 I
  21. installed  Mail Manager in my BBS, and in that moment I must
  22. adapt  EstadisEcos.rexx  on  the  way  to work with the Pino
  23. Aliberti's fabulous Software.  ;-).

  25. Two months ago, I added to the echoareas list of the program
  26. the   MMBETA  and  MM_AMY  international  areas,  and  I  be
  27. surprised  when  I become acquainted with there are a lot of
  28. people  interested  in to have the program.  This encouraged
  29. me to re-write part of the code, to adapt it 100% for the MM
  30. and in order that can be used into other computers.  That is
  31. why  the  name  and  version  has changed, now it goes to be
  32. called  MM_EstadisEcos.rexx  and  version  1.0  is the first
  33. public  release, accomplishing the wishes of a lot of people
  34. of nearly all Europe.  8-)

  37. Management
  38. ~~~~~~~~~~
  39. MM_EstadisEcos.rexx  performs the statistic of every message
  40. area  of  all  the mail echo areas that are specified in the
  41. configuration file MM_EstadisEcos.cfg
  42.  
  43. When  an  echoarea is scanned, it checks the MSGID:  control
  44. code of every message in the current area, and if it doesn't
  45. match  with  the  MSGID:   code  archived  in the .cfg file,
  46. automaticly  run  the statistic process, send a message with
  47. the  result  of  the  same  echoarea  and  saves  the MSGID:
  48. control   code   of   the  last  message  processed  in  the
  49. configuration  file.   If  during  the  scan  process is yet
  50. detected  the  presence  of  MSGID:,  skip  the  process and
  51. continues with the next echo area.

  53. Definitively,  the statistic of an echo, isn't done upto the
  54. last  message  detected in the previous statistic process is
  55. disappeared.

  57. The  best  is  to run the program from an event, once a day.
  58. The process could need some minutes, depending on the amount
  59. of  messages  of an echo-area, and the number of them in the
  60. .cfg file.
